Corn, soybeans and edible beans are all ready for harvest as soon as the ground is ready following a recent 5 inch rain event. Green beans, lima beans and sweet corn have been harvested with yields coming in around average to slightly above. Cover crops following winter wheat and vegetable crops have thrived with the abundance of heat and moisture. Winter wheat seeding has just begun and will progress through to the middle of October as more crops are harvested. Fertilizer and lime are being applied where soil tests have indicated they are required and conservation tillage operations are ongoing to ensure fields are in proper shape for 2022.
